A 1990 graduate of Shorter, Tunnell holds a degree in business administration with an emphasis in marketing. He comes to Shorter after 12 years in the printing industry. Tunnell has also worked in the pharmaceutical sales field and previously worked at Shorter as an admissions representative. Already an active volunteer with Shorter's alumni association, Tunnell has also served as a member of Shorter's Alumni Governing Board.
As part of his duties, Tunnell will work closely with the university's Alumni Governing Board to plan and promote programs and projects that will engage Shorter University alumni. His job responsibilities also include building connections with alumni and establishing informal alumni chapters.
Tunnell and his wife, the former Kim Hill, also a Shorter graduate, have three children, Jack, 13; Hillary, 10; and Sarah Frances, 7. They attend the First Baptist Church of Rome.
