Law enforcement have made two arrests in a convenience store robbery occurring in Cedartown in early May.

Dontavious Deshun Davis, 20, of 3253 Gifford St., Scottsdale, was arrested July 7 on a warrant. Polk County Sheriff Office deputies made the arrest, according to reports.

Davis is charged with robbery and battery. He remains in the Polk County Jail after bond was denied.

Christopher Jerome Worthy, 24, of 3366 Phillips Circle, Decatur, was arrested by Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputies on an outstanding warrant July 8 on charges of robbery, battery and party to a crime. He also remains in the Polk County Jail.

Assistant Cedartown Police Chief Jamie Newsome said the arrests stemmed from investigations into a late-night robbery occurring at 502 Adamson Road at a store named The Smart Mart, but which locals call The Bee Right.

Witness accounts state two black males with covered faces entered through the front door around 11:15 p.m. One leaped over the counter, struck the clerk while the second assailant struck a female customer.

An undetermined amount of cash was stolen from the cash register, according to police.
