There was plenty of fun to pass around at the annual Aragon Children’s Day on Saturday, June 5 at the Aragon Mill Pond.

With the historic site as the backdrop, the City of Aragon and Davitte Lodge 515 put on a day filled with games, fishing, food and prizes.

“This is one of the most important things that I’m proud to be affiliated with as mayor,” Aragon mayor Brenda Gazaway told the crowd. “The work that these Masons do to make sure that everything is free to the kids is unbelievable.”

Lane Waddell, 12, was doing his best to bring in a fish on the bank of the pond.

“I had one but by the time I got it out it had fallen off … I’m about to get another one though.” Waddell said. .”

Activities activities included three-legged races, egg relays and sack races, children were entered into drawings for bicycles, Blu-ray movies and other prizes throughout the day.

This was the 19th year for the event.
