The latest police raid led to six arrests and Polk County’s 11th methamphetamine lab seized this year, according to reports.

Reports from the Polk County Police Department’s Narcotics Enforcement Team (NET) stated the drug raid happened Monday night at 2802 Cave Spring Road, Cedartown, which is the home of John Calvin Green Jr, 52.

Green, Leonard Joseph Hulsey, 45, of 570 6th St., Cedartown, and Benny Wayne Brumit, 53, of 358 Santa Claus Mountain Road, Cedartown, were also arrested in the raid.

Reports state that three others arrived at the home while police were on the scene. “It has not yet been determined what role, if any, the three had in the manufacturing of methamphetamine, but officers suspect the three to have been involved in the manufacturing process,” the report states.

“An ongoing investigation is currently taking place, in an effort to identify all individuals involved in the manufacturing of methamphetamine at this location.”

John Calvin Green Jr., faces charges of trafficking methamphetamine, manufacturing methamphetamine, methamphetamine possession, possession of tools for the commission of a crime, possession of drug-related objects, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Benny Wayne Brumit is charged with trafficking methamphetamine, manufacturing methamphetamine, methamphetamine possession, possession of tools for the commission of a crime, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

I agree, comments about current or any news story is fine with me. I may not agree but that is my right. What I object to is when people start posting their political and religious opinions like they are the only ones that know what is right for everyone. If I want a sermon I will go to church, if the religious comment is pertinent to the news story then that is ok but don't start spouting off about God unless the story is about God or religion. I don't mind reading about others view of politics as long as they are not trying to convince me that they are the only ones that know what is going on and try to tell me what I should think. Make a comment that relates to the story and stick to the point and this board will be lots more interesting.

cstdwebeditor made a point that may have been overlooked - "conversation regarding news stories on this web site".

So long as the comments are about news stories, I appreciate different opinions but when the shots are fired at each other, things can get a bit boring.
