On Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, officers of the Cedartown Police Department’s Drug Investigation Unit executed a search warrant at 6 Lee Street, in Cedartown, resulting in four arrests for methamphetamine charges.

Cedartown officers were assisted by federal agents from the Drug Enforcement Agency (D.E.A.), officers from the Polk County Narcotic’s Enforcement Team (N.E.T.), Sheriff-elect McLendon, Cedartown Fire Department and Polk County Emergency Medical Service (E.M.S.)

During the execution of the search warrant, officers discovered a clandestine methamphetamine laboratory actively in operation. Agents from the D.E.A dismantled the meth lab.

Four arrests were made at the scene. Ronald Eugene Kelley, James Lamar Kelley, Clifford Reed and Martha Reed, all of Cedartown, were charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, trafficking methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, possession of tools for the commission of a crime and possession of drug related objects.

All those arrested were transported to the Polk County Jail by officers of the Cedartown Police Department.
