Villa Rica teen dead after Friday shooting

Tragedy struck a Villa Rica subdivision Friday afternoon when a girl accidently shot and killed her teenage friend.

About 5:30 p.m. last Friday, the Villa Rica Police Department and Douglas County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting on Cascade Trail in the Springwell subdivision, located off Liberty Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered 17-year-old Matias Dobbs of Villa Rica had been shot and killed.
