A minor two car accident on East Avenue left both lanes of traffic temporarily blocked.

A Cedartown police officer stated that the accident occurred when a PT Cruiser traveling east bound turned into a vacant lot just east of Cedar Heights apartments. The driver did not see an oncoming pick-up truck and the two collided.

The officer stated that the driver of the truck tried to do everything he could to avoid the collision.

All of the individuals involved in the accident were treated on the scene for minor scrapes and released.

Soon after the wreck, emergency personnel began allowing traffic to proceed through the east bound lane.
