Reaves has 10 years of experience as an educator, teaching in the areas of Family and Consumer Science and Teaching as a Profession.
She attended Jacksonville State University receiving a B.S. in Family and Consumer Sciences Education. She also earned her M.S. in Secondary Education from Grand Canyon University.
She is married to Chris Reaves, who is also a fellow educator at CHS, and they have one child, Ava, 5.
Reaves shared that the things she enjoys most about her job include “the bonds made with students through my work with Student Council, the drama program, and the teacher intern program. I also love seeing the teacher interns teaching classes and interacting with the students at the elementary schools. It’s so special to see someone that I have taught actually manage a classroom like a real teacher.”
Congratulations are also due to Jesse Stroup for being selected by the faculty and staff as Student of the Month for April.
Stroup is a junior at CHS. The faculty member who nominated him said, “Jesse always wears a smile and does his work so well, setting a standard for all students. He is a true inspiration.”
After graduation, Stroup plans to attend the University of Georgia, and one day work as a baseball scout.
