A man in custody after a police chase last week had additional felony charges levied against him on Monday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Billy John Hammonds, 38, was arrested on Thursday after leading police on a vehicle chase. His original charges were warrants for felony burglary and theft, and he was also charged with several traffic violations.

On Monday, Floyd County police charged Hammonds with one additional count of felony burglary and one count of felony theft by taking.

Warrants stated that on March 11, Hammonds entered a residence on Old Cemetery Road and took a flat-screen television valued at $600. Warrants also charged that on March 18, Hammonds took a utility trailer from Lloyd Drive and pawned it at a store in Cedartown.

Hammonds remains in jail without bail on the felony charges and also due to a probation hold.
