Three shoplifting incidents results in three arrests

Three separate shoplifting incidents resulted in the arrest of three people by a Wal-Mart loss prevention employee.

The first incident occurred on March 21. The employee noticed the accused, Matthew Thomas Bolley, 23, of Lees Chapel Road, Cedartown, conceal items and attempt to leave the business, according to Cedartown police reports.

The employee approached Bolley and asked about the items, and then took Bolley back to an office to complete paperwork and notify police, reports said.

According to reports, Bolley took a pair of gloves, a set of professional gloves and some deodorant. The items were valued at $32.96.

The second incident occurred on March 22. Reports stated that the employee placed Joseph Brent Carter, 22, of Aragon, under arrest for shoplifting two cameras and a camera case. No value was given.

The third incident occurred on March 24. The employee observed Shelia Lynn Conway, 46, of Munford, Ala., cut open a package in the store, reports stated. The employee discovered that Conway stole a cell phone charger and a digital air gauge, according to reports. The value for the items was listed at $26.40.

Police charged all three with misdemeanor theft by shoplifting.
