The lovely ladies of Cedar Heights put on a dazzling fashion show in honor of Valentine’s Day last Friday.

Residents of Cedar Heights Apartments, located at 1244 Rockmart Highway, Cedartown, held a 2010 Valentine’s Day Fashion Show at 2 p.m. on Feb. 12. Six lovely ladies competed for the title, with Annie Rae Ingram being named Ms. Cedar Heights and Liz Green named as first runner-up.

The show began with a welcome from director Patty Owens, followed by the reading of scripture and prayer. Jean Elrod followed with a motivational moment.

“We’ve got things in store for you that will make you laugh and make you cry,” she said. “This event is Cedar Heights’ Valentine to all of you.”

Resident of the month Barbara Hardin was also recognized at the event.

Ushers David Phillips and Walter Roop escorted the ladies in the fashion show, and Judy French served as the master of ceremonies.

Following the runway performances by the group, the audience was asked to vote on ballots, and register for door prizes. Following the announcement of winners, residents were invited to enjoy special Valentines refreshments and each person was given a red carnation to commemorate the event.

Sponsors included Bussey’s Florists and Gifts, Wal-Mart of Cedartown, and United Church Homes. Cedar Heights has several upcoming events, including a St. Patrick’s Day celebration, an Easter party, and a first-ever May Day Maypole.
