A north Rome man, who had identification documents stolen while he was in Loganville five years ago, is now getting collection calls on accounts he never had.

According to Rome police reports:

The victim, a 27-year-old Roman, said that his Social Security card, birth certificate and photo identification had been stolen from his hotel room in Gwinnett County back in 2005. He told Rome police he’s been getting collection calls from a cable television outlet in Cedartown and from a vacation company who claimed he’d won a vacation and needed to make a small payment to collect on the trip.

The victim told police he had never lived at the address in Cedartown and never had a bank account, or lived at an Old Rockmart Road address that the vacation company wanted to tap into.
