The first phase of a comprehensive redesign and renovation of Cedartown's downtown business district is now under way. The $1.2 million Streetscape project, which planners hope to complete by fall 2010, include replacement of sidewalks, cubs and guters and new landscaping.

Above, crews continue excavation along the first section, stretching from Stubbs Street to Sterling Holloway Place. Downtown merchants discussed details of the project last month with city officials, architect Brad Jones and officials with the contractor, Johnson Landscapes/Vertical Earth, during a public hearing held at the Cedartown Depot.

Southern repuke governors are raking in those Stimulus dollars as fast as they can and asking for more. Alabama's Jeff Sessions and Alabama Guv Bingo Bob were NOT GOING TO TAKE ANY of the stimulus money. That did not last a week and now they want more. Alabama Guv Bingo Sponge Bob Square Pants is in Washington in a "bipartisan" group of governors meeting with Obama on energy. Going "bipartisan" I suppose is a sneaky way of hoping you catch some dollars being tossed out while being with Democrats so you can blame it on them. Like "I was just there as "bipartisan" and they forced all this money on me for my state."

Repukes, pathetic blood sucking weasels. Repukes: "Yes I took a chicken from the hen house but the fox made me".

ha! Papagoose, Sarah Palin told me the same thing...but remember that pic with Gingrey presenting those funds?

Even Democratic Socialism can't stop Republican hypocrisy.

But, but, but the Stimulus Bill is scary SOCIALISM (Sarah Palin told me so)! Should I assume that no Teabagger feet will ever trod the newly improved sidewalks of Cedartown once this project is complete?
