Cutter’s Corner Salon seeks to help make this prom season special for local girls.

The salon, located at 14 Rolling Hills Rd. in Cedartown, is moving into the busy prom season by offering a new Prom Consignment Shop that includes gently worn dresses, accessories and shoes along with regular salon services for all ages.

Cutter’s Corner also provides unique services including cuts, color, hi-lites and foils, shampoo and sets, extensions, manicures, pedicures, facials and waxing. The shop also offers Colonial candles, jewelry, baby gifts, flip-flops, key fobs and an assortment of other unique items by local artists.

Owner and operator Cheryl Padgett is excited about the new prospects warmer weather and seasonal customers can bring.

“We offer great salon services and a unique area for shopping and gifts,” said Padgett. “Whether it be for hair services or products, a candle or the unique gift or prom dress, come by and look around. We’d love to have you.”

Cutter’s Corner has been in Cedartown for over 25 years, and Cheryl and her husband, Wayne, have owned the business since March of 2009. Cheryl has worked as a cosmetologist at Cutter’s Corner since 1987.

“I’ve always had an interest, even as a child, to be a cosmetologist as own a salon,” said Padgett. “Going from just being a one of the “girls” at Cutter’s Corner to being the one responsible for the salon and its operations.”

The salon has seven employees including Padgett. Claudia Cox, Samantha Barrett, Elaine Wallace, Betty Redding, Julie Beckman, and Mandy Ricks are also master cosmetologists, with more than 170 years of combined experience.

The salon’s new prom consignment service is a boon to business because it will benefit both sellers and buyers, according to Padgett. The unique, handcrafted gifts provided by local artists can add to the overall prom experience as well.

“I love seeing a customer come in for a service and leaving feelings great about it,” said Padgett. “Sometimes a ‘hair-do’ can change not only the look of someone, but make them feel like a renewed and refreshed person. Knowing that you’ve had a part in that transformation is a wonderful feeling.”
