The University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Service will conduct a workshop for small farmers Wednesday, Feb. 3 at the Bartow County Extension office in Cartersville. The program is called ‘Too Much to Mow, What Do I Grow?’

“I get a lot of phone calls from people wanting to get into farming,” said Floyd County Extension Coordinator Keith Mickler. He said people would get help regarding licensing, regulatory matters and small farm marketing. The seminar will begin at 8:30 a.m. and continue through 4 p.m.

Scott Cagle will be the keynote speaker. Cagle specializes in agri-tourism and will speak to participants about programs ranging from farm mazes to pick your own pumpkin patches.

Pre-registration is required prior to Wednesday, Jan. 27. The cost for the workshop is $10.

Checks should be made out to Rolling Hills RC&D Council and sent to Rolling Hills at 512 Main St., Cedartown, Ga. 30125.

Agribusiness interests can reach Mickler in the Rome office at 706-295-6210.
