A woman escaped injury after her car plunged into Tanyard Branch Creek off Clyde Drive in Cedartown Wednesday afternoon.
The 3 p.m. incident sent police, fire rescue and ambulance personnel to the scene. Cedartown Assistant Police Chief Jamie Newsome said the female driver was "miraculously uninjured."
Rescue personnel were able to remove her quickly from the vehicle.
The late-model Saturn sedan had just been purchased Dec. 4.
The wreck occurred just beyond a sharp curve, where the driver had apparently failed to navigate.
