Cedartown police are still looking for two men suspected in a November armed robbery of a pedestrian, according to Cedartown Assistant Police Chief Jamie Newsome.

A third suspect in the case, James Andrew Crawford, 18, of 210 Laurel Place, Cedartown, was arrested Dec. 2 and faces an armed robbery charge.

Crawford remains in the Polk County Jail.

The incident took place Nov. 14 at the intersection of Brook and Cobb Streets in Cedartown, according to reports.

The victim, Christopher Martinez, told police he was talking to a nearby store when three men followed him.

Describing the men as two white men and one black man, Martinez said one man pulled out a gun demanding money. He said they began to strike him when he refused to give them anything.

Martinez sustained injuries to the face, Newsome said.

Newsome said it was determined later the gun was a toy gun.

Newsome said detectives targeted Crawford as a suspect early on in the investigation, but finding him was another matter.

“We got a tip on where he was, so we took out a warrant,” Newsome said.
