A homeowner at 595 Lane St., Rockmart woke Monday morning to find all four rims and tires missing from a vehicle.

The car had been moved Saturday afternoon. It was uncertain if the tires and rims were taken off late Saturday or during the night Sunday, but the homeowner believes it was probably done very late Sunday or early Monday morning.

The thieves jacked up the car, removed the wheels and set the car back down on concrete blocks. The thieves apparently brought their own blocks, leading the homeowner to speculate that this was planned in advance.

The car was a second vehicle that was rarely used and was parked off the alleyway behind the home.

Taken were four standard rims and plastic hubcabs. The car is a 1999 Dodge Neon.

The Rockmart Police Department has been contacted about the theft. Other property owners who may have experienced theft this weekend are also encouraged to contact their local police departments so authorities can track any trends.
