The Cedartown Middle School basketball season will start today with a huge game.
The young Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs will be taking on their cross county rivals Rockmart Middle School. The game will be played in the Cedartown Middle School gym and the girls will play at 4:30 p.m. and the boys will play afterwards.
This season, Lynda Wiggins is coaching the Lady Bulldogs while Terry Morrow is in charge of the Bulldogs.
Members of the Cedartown Middle School girls team are Hayden Claypool, D’Cole Garrett, Allie Gravitt, Savannah Bentley, Sydney Blackmon, Madison Blazer, Kinshea Jackson, Emma Short, Sha’ Jones, Tiara Penson, Breanna Luke, Carly Loudermilk, Madison Odom and Briana Thomas.
No roster was turned in by Morrow for the Bulldogs team as of press time Tuesday.
After playing Rockmart today, Cedartown will travel to Model Saturday for a 10 a.m. game. Next week, Cedartown will host Pepperell on Dec. 10 and then will play at home again on Dec. 12 against Darlington.
Cedartown will visit Coosa on Dec. 17 before playing their final home game of 2009 on Dec. 19 against Chattooga.
To start 2010, the local middle school team will visit Armuchee on Jan. 7 and Rockmart on Jan. 9.
Cedartown returns home on Jan. 14 to host Model, but then they hit the road to visit Pepperell on Jan. 16 and Darlington on Jan. 21.
On Jan. 23, Cedartown Middle School hosts Coosa.
Jan. 28 is a road trip to Chattooga and the regular season ends on Jan. 30 at home against Armuchee.
The playoffs start on Feb. 1.
