A project to resurface the tennis courts at Peek Park in Cedartown is expected to be completed in another two to three weeks.

Employees of Bartow Paving completed the first phase when they poured new asphalt earlier this week. Next will come a top coat and repainting of the courts.

"They want to the asphalt to cure first," Cedartown City Manager Charles Akridge explained.

The project is being funded through Special Local Option Sales Tax funds designated for recreation improvements. The project's cost is about $44,000.
