Effective immediately, the Polk County Water Authority "Boiled Water Advisory" has been lifted.

Manager Dick Martin said water from Euharlee Creek water did not get into storage tanks as previously thought.

"This is due, in part, to the dedicated efforts of Dale Brumbelow, Rockmart, chief plant operator, and David Mason, Cedartown, superintendent," he said.

"Both remained on the job throughout the night."

According to Martin, the plant is now pumping safe, clear, clean water. "It is safe for consumption," he said.

The "Boiled Water Advisory" was issued late Wednesday due to concerns the creek would affect the purity of the drinking water supply and the plant could not pump, filter and treat water as usual.

The advisory did not apply to citizens using City of Cedartown or City of Rockmart's water system. Additionally, this does not apply to Vinson Mountain residents whose water is purchased by the Authority from Paulding County.
