Playing in a must win football game, the Cedartown Middle School Bulldogs prevailed over Rockmart Wednesday at Cedartown Memorial Stadium on Doc Ayers Field.

A game that was filled with lots of emotion and lots of fans the young Bulldogs pulled out a thrilling 26-24 win to advance to the championship game.

“In the end, we done what it took to come out with a win,” said Head Coach Jeff Collier. “We will now play for the league championship at home on Nov. 3 at 4:45 p.m.”

Collier said the team has accomplished so much this season while recording six wins in seven games.

“We played hard,” Collier said. “I couldn’t be more proud of the team than this. We are sitting at 6-1 and regardless of the outcome in the championship game, these boys are winners and that’s a big confidence booster for our program.”

This was a great game! What the FishWrap has failed to mention, is that they are advancing in the playoffs against Rockmart - a team who has also had a season winning six out of seven games...RMS went into this game undefeated, yet all season long, the Fishwrap only reported CMS's games...Kudos to both teams - it goes to show that Polk County brings forth many talented players on both sides of the county.
