The woman who allegedly tried to drive off in an Aragon police car last week is currently out of jail on a property bond, but officials said she will face numerous charges.

Tina Michelle Cobb, 36, who Aragon police first identified as Tina Poole, is of Rockmart but has no permanent address listed, according to Aragon Police Chief Wayne Sanders.

Polk County Jail docket reports list only one DUI refusal charge against Cobb. However, Sanders said many more are coming.

He said other charges would include aggravated assault on a police officer, theft of a police car, and criminal damage to government property among others.

The other person arrested in the incident, Alex Lamar Pool, 18, of 11 Lake Shore Drive, Leesburg, Ala., will face only one charge of DUI under the age of 21, Sanders said. He was released per the request of the Aragon Police Department.

Reports indicate that Pool, who is Cobb’s son, was driving the vehicle stopped by police in a routine traffic stop.

Sanders said he has decided to call in law enforcement from Paulding County to investigate Aragon’s handling of the incident.

He said the meeting is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.

The chief said this decision is voluntary and he just wants to make sure all protocols were correctly followed.

“I don’t want anyone to think we are hiding anything,” Sanders said.
