It's official — the Braves' No. 1 draft pick will make his debut at State Mutual Stadium.

The Rome Braves announced this morning that Vanderbilt pitcher Mike Minor will start for the low Class-A affiliate tonight in game two of a three-game series with Charleston.

It will be Minor’s first professional start. First pitch is at 7 p.m.

Minor was the Atlanta Braves’ No. 1 pick in the June draft (No. 7 overall), and received a $2.42 million signing bonus — the highest in team history for a draft pick.

He signed with the Braves earlier this month, and accompanied the R-Braves on their recently-completed road trip.

In other Rome Braves roster news, infielder Adam Coe has been placed on the disabled list retroactive to August 18th with a right groin strain.
