When contacted by The Cedartown Standard last week for information, company officials declined to comment.
As of today, it appears that the company has shut down.
A Cedartown Standard reporter drove to the facility and found it to be vacant.
City Commissioner Gary Martin spoke to the Standard about the closing.
“It is devastating to see Rome Plow close,” Martin said. “This has been a staple business Cedartown for a long time. Several of the employees with the company had been there a long time.
“As a City Commissioner it is heartbreaking to see this and I feel sorry for the employees who have lost their jobs.”
