Cedartown's Krige Schabort took fifth place in the men's wheelchair racing division on Wednesday in Atlanta's 38th annual Peachtree Road Race.

The 43-year-old native of the Republic of South Africa is a three-time winner of the Peachtree.

Taking top honors this year was Aussie Kurt Fearnley. The 27-year-old finished the race with David Weir close behind. Weir was the top finisher in the Cedartown 5K last Tuesday.

In the women's race, fresh-faced Amanda McGrory, 21, blew past all other competition to capture first. McGrory had a strong lead, one that put her out alone in front through most of the race. She was also the women's winner in the Cedartown 5K.
