A motorist flipped her car but was uninjured in a single-vehicle accident around 6 p.m. Tuesday on Wooten Road near Cedartown.

The accident occurred shortly after a light rain began to fall over the Cedartown area, making roads slippery.

The motorist told authorities she hit her brakes while coming around a curve near her home. She apparently hit a wet spot on the pavement and her car spun around and then overturned in the ditch, coming to rest on the right side of the roadway.

The motorist was helped out of her vehicle through a rear door. An ambulance was called but she declined treatment.

County volunteer firefighters and the Polk County Police provided initial assistance, then the matter was turned over to the Georgia State Patrol. Details were awaiting completion of the wreck report.
