The Cedartown High School wrestling teams hosted Coosa last Tuesday in their final home wrestling match of the season. Cedartown, the varsity and middle school teams, dominated the Eagles.

The high school team won 30-21 over Coosa and while no score was kept for the middle school, the young Bulldogs recorded several pinfall victories. The two varsity teams wrestled again after the middle schoolers, but no score was kept for that round.

In the first varsity go-round, Dylan Mason and Kyle Mehrkens picked up impressive pinfall victories for Cedartown. Mason also recorded another pinfall victory in the second round of matches for the varsity.

The Cedartown varsity team will compete today in a quad meet at Chattooga High School. The meet is scheduled to get under way at 5:30 p.m. This Saturday, Cedartown will wrestle in the Gordon Lee Tournament, with action starting at 9 a.m.

Next week, Cedartown will wrestle at Dalton on Wednesday, Rockmart on Friday and Lithia Springs on Saturday. It will mark the final week of the regular season for Cedartown.

The Individual Area 6-AAA Tournament will be held Feb. 16 at Cass High School and the Individual State Tournament will be held Feb. 21-23 at the Gwinnett Center.

The middle school team, coached by Jeff Collier, will wrap up their season on Feb. 2 by competing at Carrollton.
