WGAA Radio sponsored an auction Tuesday night to benefit the Cedartown United Fund’s Toy Program. The first-ever event was a success and raised over $4,000 for the annual Christmas time program that provides toys for underprivileged children in Polk County. Auctioneer Dan Prather, above right, of Easy Way Wood Products and Robert Smith, worked the bidding crowd Tuesday at the downtown Houseal Building. Auction items were donated from local businesses and residents. As of Tuesday, over 400 children had signed up to receive toys from the program. Toy program registration will continue through this Friday until noon. Registration is held at the Cedartown United Fund office on South College Street.
