GCWF Professional Wrestling is coming to the Cedartown/Polk County Boys & Girls Club on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 7:30 p.m. at 321 East Queen St. in Cedartown. Kids 12 and under and all Club Members presenting a membership card get in free. All others are $5.

The featured wrestler will be “Wildfire” Tommy Rich, who will be receiving a lifetime achievement award. Rich began wrestling in 1974 and became very popular in the 1980’s when he won regional titles with NWA (National Wrestling Alliance). Rich won his first NWA World Heavyweight Wrestling Championship in April of 1981 and became one of the youngest NWA World Heavyweight champions of all time.

Besides wrestling in the NWA, Rich has wrestled in World Championship Wrestling (WCW), United States Wrestling Association (USWA), Smoky Mountain Wrestling (SMW), Georgia Championship Wrestling (GCW), American Wrestling Federation (AWF), Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) and in other independent wrestling organizations.

Rich has held over 50 championship belts during his career, including heavyweight championship belts (the highest belt you can win) in nine different wrestling organizations.

Other wrestlers participating in the GCWF event will be JJ Grizzly, Kid Dynamite, Masked Assassin, The All Star, Ganser, Venom and more.

Door and concession sales will go to the Youth Ministry of Spirited Renewed Church International located in Lindale.
