Special Olympics being held today

Over 140 students will take place in the annual Polk County Special Olympics, planned for Friday, April 18.

The event will take place at the Nathan Dean Sports Complex in Rockmart.

It will last from 9:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.

Opening ceremonies will take place at 9:30.

All schools in Polk County with special needs children will participate.

Note: In past years the event has been held in Cedartown, but it has been moved this year to the park off Highway 278 in Rockmart.
