To register to receive toys for Christmas, applicants should provide proof of income, proof of expenses (such as utility bills), proof of residence in Cedartown and the participating childs social security card or birth certificate.
The Christmas Toy Program provides Christmas Toys for Cedartown children, from newborns up to age 14. Cedartown residents who wish to sign up to receive Christmas toys may sign up in person at the Cedartown United Fund offices, located at 445 South College St. (on the corner of South College and Ware Streets).
Registration will be conducted from 10 a.m. until 12 noon, Monday through Friday.
According to United Fund Director Janine Hand, toys collected will be distributed on Dec. 14 and 15 to those who have registered.
Toy drives have already been successfully conducted at Dollar General Market and Caseys Food Store. A third will be held at Kroger on Dec. 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Three large boxes of toys were collected at Dollar General Market, Hand said.
Monetary donations are also being accepted, which will be used by the United Fund to buy toys.
Hand stated that toys could also be brought to the United Fund, which is open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. weekdays.
