Woman arrested for damaging vehicle, attacking husband; man charged for possession of meth, driving stolen truck
A Dallas woman was arrested after she intentionally damaged a vehicle and attacked her husband with scissors on April 27.
From Polk County Jail records and county police reports:
Trina A. Smith, 30, of Dallas, was arrested and charged with second degree criminal damage to property, drugs to be kept in the original container, aggravated assault, simple battery and cruelty to children.
Police were dispatched to Airport Road, where witnesses said that Smith became enraged while inside her vehicle.
Witnesses explained that the vehicle she and her husband were travelling in had ran out of gas as they were pulling up to a house on Airport Road.
According to reports, Smith then became irate and ripped the rear view mirror off of the truck and started bashing the windshield with it.
Her husband, 30-year-old Anthony Smith, stated that he tried to get her to stop when she began punching him in the face repeatedly.
Anthony Smith said that he then exited the vehicle but was locked out of the vehicle by his wife.
Fearing for the safety of their infant child that was still in the vehicle, he said that he attempted to retrieve the child through the rear window.
Trina Smith then allegedly got out of the truck and lunged at her husband with a pair of scissors and made a four inch wound on his left side.
Anthony Smith then went inside his home to call 911. While calling, Trina Smith reportedly took a pool stick and busted out the driver side rear window and struck the truck several times on the rear driver side quarter panel.
Police arrived on the scene and arrested Trina Smith. While at the jail, police allegedly found several pills inside her purse not in their original containers.
Stolen vehicle/ meth
A Rockmart man was arrested for methamphetamine possession after he was found to be driving a stolen truck on April 25.
From Polk County Jail records and county police reports:
Artise Lee Davis, 49, of 430 Woodsmoke Road, Rockmart, was arrested and charged with violating the Georgia Controlled Substances Act for possession of meth, theft by receiving, driving while license suspended, no insurance, violating a windshield requirement, improper tag for purpose of concealing ID and open container.
While on patrol on New Prospect Road, police observed Davis travelling in a extended cab Ford truck with a broken window.
Davis was immediately stopped and arrested for driving without insurance and on a suspended license.
Inside the truck, police reportedly found a small aluminum ball that contained suspected meth, as well as sandwich bags commonly used to to package meth.
There was also an empty alcoholic beverage found in the floor board of the truck, the report states.
After running the tag on the truck, police learned that the truck was stolen.
Davis was arrested and transported to the Polk County Sheriffs Office for booking and the Polk County Jail for confinement.
Attempt to obtain
dangerous drugs
by fraud
An Alabama woman was arrested for trying to unlawfully obtain oxycontin pills on April 25.
From Polk County Jail records and Cedartown police reports:
Sue Ellen Shedd, 58, of Alabama, was arrested and charged with attempt to obtain dangerous drugs by fraud, possession of schedule II drugs and possession of drugs not in their original container.
She was later released from jail on $6100 bond.
Shedd reportedly went to a local pharmacy, and presented a prescription for 60 pills of 20 mg oxycontin.
According to pharmacists there, the prescription appeared to have been altered.
After making contact with Shedds doctor, police learned that the prescription was only supposed to be for 10 mg oxycontin.
While booking Shedd at the jail, she was found to have possession of 67 oxycontin pills, 80 mg each, not in the proper container.
Bomb threat
Police cleared Polk County Public Service after a bomb threat was reported there on April 27.
From Polk County police reports:
Polk County police were called to Polk County Public Service, 291 Hunnigton Road, in reference to a bomb threat.
A Polk County 911 dispatcher advised officers that an unknown male called Polk 911 by cell phone and advised that there was a bomb at the Polk County Public Service building.
Then caller then hung up, the report states.
After responding to the incident location, police had the building cleared.
No bomb was found on the premises after a searched was conducted by several officers, according to the report.
