Governor Sonny Perdue announced today his selection of Donald N. Wilson to fill the unexpired term of the late Gerry E. Holmes, district attorney for the Tallapoosa Judicial Circuit, Polk and Haralson Counties.

“Don Wilson brings a unique range of qualifications from over 20 years of prosecutorial experience within the circuit, combined with critical managerial experience and a strong showing of public and community support”, said Governor Perdue. “The administration of justice will be strengthened by this appointment.”

Wilson received his undergraduate degree from Shorter College in 1968 with a major in History, and received his law degree from Mercer University in 1971.

Former District Attorney Holmes died in April following a lengthy illness.

Wilson and his wife, Eulalie, reside on Cave Spring Road in Cedartown.
