A Cedartown man is in surgery after being airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center Tuesday night following a wreck on Highway 278 at Peacock Lane, across from Wal-Mart.

Rockmart Police Chief Keith Sorrells said Jackie Eugene Brock, 44, of 4356 Collard Valley Road, Cedartown, was riding his motorcycle on Highway 278 shortly after 8 p.m. when Tina Irene Holt, 50,of Taylorsville attempted to turn left in front of the biker.

Brock struck her 2000 Toyota Tocoma pick-up on the side.

"He seems to be in stable condition," Sorrells said.

Holt, who was uninjured, will be cited with failure to yeild, Sorrells said.
