Cedartown Police arrested three local residents for possessing suspected methamphetamine.

According to reports:

At 4:08 p.m., officers were dispatched to Nation Nails, 748 North Main St., after a female was accused of not paying for services. Police located the subject, 18 year-old Adrianne Nicole Gray of 7 Woodglen Dr., in front of Kroger, complaining that her husband was inside with her checkbook.

Employees notified police that Gray had been acting strangely as she put several items in a shopping basket, then left the basket in the middle of an aisle.

Gray consented to a search and officers found a suspected ibuprofen tablet and a freshly used syringe with what is believed to be methamphetamine residue inside. She claimed the syringe did not belong to her, but to Michael Dawson.

Police arrested Gray on counts of violating the Georgia Controlled Substance Act (VGCSA) and possesing drug-related objects.

The officers decided to investigate Dawson, who was thought to be staying at the Circle A Motel, 816 North Main St. The policemen found the room occupied by Dawson, 24 of 2065 Potash Rd., and Jimmy Cotton, Jr., 33 of 2065 Potash Rd. The men consented to a search and officers found a white pill suspected to be a prescription dosage of ibuprofen on the nightstand.

Looking about the room, police found two cans, which are thought to have been used to smoke illegal drugs. The officers then noticed a suspicious item resting on a tile. When the tile was moved, a small yellow purse and a bag of suspected methamphetamine fell to the floor. Inside the purse, police found a bag of suspected methamphetamine, three small pills, three larger pills, and a bag of syringes.

Both Dawson and Cotton were charged with VGCSA and VGCSA with intent to distribute.
