Two Rome men were arrested after officers found them driving a stolen vehicle on Wednesday, July 31.

According to reports:

At 12:51 p.m., police observed a gray vehicle speeding on Broad St. The officers proceeded to chase the car before it jumped a set of railroad tracks, becoming airborne.

The driver pulled behind a residence on Lafayette St. The two suspects exited the vehicle as the officers approached them. Both suspects said that the car did not belong to them and that they did not know the owner.

After running a check on the license plate, officers discovered that the car had been reported stolen in Floyd County. The driver, Clinton Ladale Pace, 17 of 208 Tolbert St., Rome, was found to have an outstanding warrant for allegedly stealing the vehicle.

Both Pace and his passenger, 18 year-old Tyler Tremaine Gibbons of 9 Roseway Circle, Rome, were placed under arrest for theft by receiving stolen property.
