A Floyd County man has been charged with killing one motorist and injuring his passenger in an incident over the weekend of Dec. 1 in Rockmart.

Rockmart authorities state Terrance Lamar Ware-Mayo, 20, of a Silver Creek address, was arrested in the Polk County jail for his connection with the death.

Ware-Mayo allegedly shot and killed Samuel Castillo, no age or address given, and wounded Juan Peralta, no age or address given, who was a passenger in Castillo’s car.

Peralta was taken to Floyd Medical Center, where he is recovering from gunshot wounds.

Ware-Mayo faces murder and assault charges. He remains in the Polk County Jail.
