Former president of the Rome Plow Company, J.T. Soules, receives a hug and a big thank you from Vietnam veteran and Beckley, WV. resident Bill Brown during the 2004 Land Clearers Reunion held in Cedartown this past weekend. Soules traveled to Vietnam during the height of the conflict in order to teach military personnel like Brown how to operate the large land clearing machines equipped with a special K/G cutting blade. The blade was manufactured by the Rome Plow Company. The operators of these large machines dubbed “Rome Plows” are credited with saving the lives of many American soldiers.
