A female driver was ejected from the vehicle.
A woman was life-flighted to Atlanta Medical Center after her attempt to pass vehicles ended with her truck overturning.

The wreck happened just before noon on Highway 101 across from Nordic Cold Storage LLC, just outside of Aragon.

Rockmart Police Chief Keith Sorrells said the woman has yet to be identified.

Sorrells said the wreck was a combination of driving too fast for conditions and improper passing.

He said the woman was driving her Ford Explorer Sport Trac behind two cars traveling north in the inside lane.

“She swerved out into the right lane to pass cars in the left lane,” he said. “When she did, there was a slower vehicle in the right lane.

“She just snatched it. When she did, she started to slide sideways until she hit the bank and overturned and was ejected.”

Sorrells said another mistake on the driver’s part was that she wasn’t wearing a seat belt.

“Had she been wearing one, she would have been OK. She would not have been ejected,” he said.
