Diamond, who is 39-years-old, checked the winning numbers on Saturday morning, Feb. 26, and said, “I didn’t think it was true.”
He kept the ticket in his pocket until he claimed the money at the lotto headquarters the following Monday and said, “I knew where it (the ticket) was at all times.”
Diamond and his fiancee plan to use a portion of the winnings for their wedding and will save the remainder for their future, according to a press release from the Georgia Lottery Corporation.
The winning numbers were 10-22-23-30-39.
Diamond purchased his Quik Pik ticket at Galaxy Foods located at 3100 Washington Road in East Point.
