On Thursday, March 20, 2008, The Bartow-Cartersville Drug Task Force, along with Agents from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (I.C.E.), the Polk County Sheriffs Office, the Polk County Police Department and the Cedartown Police Department, arrested numerous subjects as a result of a three-month investigation for drug charges.
According to Sheriff Clark Millsap and Police Chief T.N. Culpepper undercover Agents with the Bartow-Cartersville Drug Task Force and the GBI began purchasing quantities of Crystal Methamphetamine from a Hispanic subject in the Cartersville area. During the operation, the undercover Agents negotiated a deal to include the purchase of approximately four (4) pounds of Crystal Methamphetamine from this same suspect. This investigation also led Agents to a residence located at 265 Chestnut Street Cedartown, Georgia
This operation culminated with the execution of a search warrant at the above-mentioned residence in Cedartown and the arrest of six Hispanic males and the seizure of more than four (4) pounds of Crystal Methamphetamine. Also seized were six vehicles, six firearms and numerous forged documents.
The Crystal Methamphetamine had an estimated street value of $56,000.
The following suspects were arrested and housed and the Bartow County jail and the Polk County Jail pending bond hearing.
Roberto Cisneros-Chavez, 27 years old of 10 Trentwood Place Rome, Georgia, charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine
Jose Manuel Reyes-Cervantes, 23 years old of 265 Chestnut Street Cedartown, Georgia, charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine.
Esteban Pacheco-Pineda, 22 years old of 706 6th Street Cedartown, Georgia, charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony.
Humberto Hernandez-Pineda, 26 years old, of 706 6th Street Cedartown, Georgia, charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony,
Jose Chavez-Martinez, 30 years old, of 265 Chestnut Street Cedartown, Georgia, charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine (2 counts),
Jesus Chavez-Martinez, 30 years old of 265 Chestnut Street Cedartown, Georgia, charged with Possession of Methamphetamine with the Intent to Distribute, Possession of Marijuana-Less than one ounce, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony.
Sheriff Millsap stated that the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are possible.
