The suspect was allegedly intoxicated, picked a verbal argument with his neighbor and threw a plastic chair at an infant child.
According to city police reports:
While police were at the Canal Court Apartments, on Aug. 22, around 1 p.m., an argument ensued between two citizens.
Investigating, police noticed Reginald LaJames Davis, 19, of 615 S. Broad St., standing in the doorway of an apartment yelling and cursing at a female resident across the walkway.
As police approached, Davis started to go out the back door. More officers were called and pursued Davis through the apartment complex.
Davis ran into the woods nearby and stayed hidden, as more officers arrived.
After several minutes had passed, Davis was finally coaxed out of the woods by police, where he surrendered.
The woman with whom Davis was arguing told authorities that Davis had thrown a plastic chair at her 2-year-old son.
Davis was arrested on numerous charges including disorderly conduct, criminal trespass, obstruction, underage possession of alcohol, simple assault and public drunkenness.
Pulls gun at bar
Cedartown police arrested a man last week for pulling a gun on the owner of a local bar.
The suspect also tried to reenter the bar after he was told to leave by the owner.
According to police reports:
On Aug. 22 in the late evening, police were called to the bar located at 551 West Avenue.
James Hainds told authorities that a customer, Jeff Harrison Pope, was attempting to get inside the bar, after hours.
Pope had been kicked out of the bar earlier in the night for harassing a female inside.
As he left, Pope slammed the door, prompting Hainds to go to the door.
When Hainds went to open the door, Pope stood outside aiming a handgun at Hainds.
Hainds closed the door and witnesses watched as Pope drove off.
After the bar closed for the night and everyone had left, Pope came back.
Police arrested Pope, 33, of 329 West Girard Ave., at the scene, charging him with aggravated assault and drunknness.
A gun was found three feet from where Pope was standing.
Collision, DUI
A Cedartown man was arrested for driving under the influence, after he caused a wreck on Highway 278.
According to Georgia State Patrol reports:
On Aug. 17, around 8:24 a.m., troopers were called to a two-car accident.
Both motorists Ricky L. Bagley, of 68 Branch Road, and Wynter Dollar Perry, of 424 Walnut St., were traveling west on the highway, with Bagley in the rear.
When Perry slowed to make a left turn into a private drive, Bagley struck the GMC in the back bumper, forcing Perry off the road and to overturn.
Each driver sustained injuries and were taken to Polk Medical Center.
Bagley told troopers that he did not see any brake lights nor a turn signal.
Witnesses claim Bagley looked as if he was going to pass Perry.
In addition to the DUI, Bagley was charged with driving on a suspended license and following too close.
