A Canton teen was arrested Thursday for allegedly breaking into the same Cherokee County home and taking items five times in the past month — all while the residents were at home.

Zane Rotruck, 17, was charged with five counts of burglary and one count of entering an auto, Cherokee sheriff’s Lt. Jay Baker said.

The last burglary occurred early Wednesday, Baker said. One of the residents at the home in the Woodmont subdivision spotted Rotruck exiting the back of the home and called 911.

Baker said Rotruck was charged with public indecency earlier this month after he allegedly masturbated in front of a Woodmont jogger on two different occasions. He was out on bond for that charge when Wednesday’s burglary occurred.

Rotruck is being held in the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center on $61,700 bond.
