The 23-year-old woman arrested last week by Polk County police owned the car allegedly used in the May 7 attempted burglary at Mountain Home Loop Road.

That’s according to Sgt. Mark Sparks over the Criminal Investigations Division of the Police County Police Department.

According to the Polk County Jail docket book, Jessica Lane Griffen, 23, of 199 Morton Springs Rd., Cedartown, was arrested June 1 on a warrant from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. She is charged with burglary, criminal trespass and conspiracy.

“She is the owner of the vehicle used in the burglary,” Sparks said. “She was very involved, but the main reason she was tied to it was the Jeep.”

The Jeep was the vehicle impounded in the chase and arrest of James Edward Anderson, 35, and Amanda Maureen Day, 23, both of Cedartown. Both were captured the day of the incident and are charged in the burglary.

In that burglary incident, the property owner told police he came to the residence to find two men car-rying items out of the house. He held a gun on the pair while law enforcement was called, but the men fled when they heard sirens.

Sparks said the investigation is continuing and more arrests are expected.
