Berry College was eliminated from the NAIA World Series in Lewiston, Idaho on Tuesday as they lost to Southern States Athletic Conference foe Lee University, 5-3.

Berry, which has Cedartown graduate Drew Owens on their team, won their first game at the World Series before losing the next two. Berry was one of six teams left in the 10-team, double-elimination tournament when they lost to Lee University.

Berry went ahead in the second inning 1-0, before Lee University scored twice in the fourth inning to go ahead 2-1.

In the fifth inning, Lee scored once more to go up 3-1. The Vikings, who only had three hits in the game, were never able to retake the lead.

Owens, a relief pitcher, did not play in Tuesday’s game.
