A Polk County man is being treated at Floyd Medical Center (FMC) after a fight with his brother left him with a severaly lacerated hand.

According to Polk County Police Chief Kenny Dodd, Chris and Jeremy Timms of 166 Wieua Way, which is Timber Ridge Mobile Home Park near Buchanan Highway, were at another trailer at Magnolia Mobile Home Park when they began fighting about mid-afternoon.

"One of the brothers, Chris, punched a window in the trailer and severly lacerated his arm pretty bad," Dodd said.

Chris Timms began walking back to his trailer while Jeremy Timms went next door to Farmer's Store to use the phone. Reports are that he was highly intoxicated and began yelling vulgarities at the clerk. Dodd said he ran when the clerk called the police.

Chris Timms was transported to FMC where doctors are still treating him, according to FMC officials. Jeremy Timms was arrested on a charge of public drunkenness.
