The Cedartown Middle School Bulldogs baseball team won on Wednesday to improve to 5-0 and stay in a tie for first place in the Rome-Floyd Parks Recreation Authority middle school varsity baseball league.

Cedartown’s win came over Rome by a score of 10-0.

“We used three pitchers yesterday,” head coach Bill Ellis said. “Jacob Rodriguez, Henley Hays and Stephen Walker all pitched well, keeping the shutout going.”

Ellis noted that it was the first time Walker had pitched this season.

“He saw mound time for the first time and pitched very well,” Ellis said. “Our defense was also very solid and played well the entire game.”

Cedartown, who is tied for Darlington for first place in the league, will play Model Thursday at 5 p.m. at Riverview Park in Rome.
