The following is a list of events going on in and around Polk County today, March 12:

1. The Cedartown Senior Citizen Nutrition Center located next to Bert Wood Park has activities Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Seniors 55 and older may participate in activities. Seniors 60 and older may participate in activities as well as nutritional meals and trips.

2. Redmond Regional Medical Center will hold a series of wellness works seminars throughout the year. The seminars are free and led by physicians to teach patients how to enhance their wellbeing. A workshop on back health will be held March 12 at 5:30 p.m. in the lower level classrooms.

3. The Polk School District Board of Education will meet in regular session on Tuesday, March 12 at 6 p.m. in the central office.

4. The Rockmart Civic Arts Commission 316 N. Piedmont Ave., Bldg. 300, Rockmart, holds open studio pottery classes on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 6:30-8:30 p.m. with Instructor Paul Craighead. Classes are $15 per session. For more information call 706-843-5302.
