The following is a list of events going on in and around Polk County this weekend, Feb. 23-24:

Saturday:

1. The Rockmart Civic Arts Gallery 316 N. Piedmont Ave., Bldg. 300, Rockmart, is open on Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. or by appointment.

2. The fifth annual Our House benefit singing will be held at Victory Baptist Church on Highway 278 on Saturday, Feb. 23 at 6 p.m. Singers will be the Cross Tie Band, Chosen and the Victory Baptist Church choir. All proceeds will go to the Our House Polk County Women’s Shelter.

3. Allison and Connie Shaw will once again be collecting donated prom dresses for Polk County students. Anyone with a new or gently used prom dress can donate by contacting Allison Shaw at 678-988-3710 or Connie Shaw at 770-749-1083.

Sunday:

1. Crossroads Memorial Missionary Baptist Church, will hold a singing on Sunday, Feb. 24 at 6 p.m. featuring “Heartfelt Grass” from Dallas. The pastor is Tim Bennett. Everyone is invited to attend.

2. Freedom Baptist Church, 770 Huntington Rd., Cedartown, invites everyone to join in a “Read the Bible For Life” class every Sunday at 6 p.m.
